Im so glad you're here, so let me share a little about myself while I have your ear, or in this case, your eyes. Some of my earliest memories include me toting a camera. My mom would joke about my weekly film roll bill as I propped my cat into his next pose or dressed my younger siblings for their 5th session of the day. Thankfully our cameras have evolved since the time I took 500 photos of the Badlands on my Kodak rolls.
It wasn't until I married my supportive husband that I really began to see this dream come to life. He upgraded my old Canon Rebel and I dove in head first! I practiced on my usual model, this little cutie in the picture, until I was confident to start sharing my work with the world. Since then, I have spent countless hours on education and, of course, life's best educator - experience.
I have learned from some of the greats before me, most notably, Stormy Solis, with her incredible course - All Heart Access, Pye Jirsa and contributors through the SLR Lounge, and the many contributors at Unraveled Academy. Truly my greatest educator has been experience, trial and error, learning face to face in tough lighting, great lighting. With real people, real families, real kids, cranky kids, happy kids and just capturing pure moments!
Photography is what makes my heart beat, capturing beautiful moments in a memorable place and spending hours pouring over these images to make them into wonderful keepsakes is what drives me to continue. It is truly my greatest passion in life and I am so grateful to have realized it.
My Photography Goals
I truly believe that our sessions together are a group effort. The sessions that really set my heart on fire for this craft are the real, raw, emotional, messy sessions! The ones that we all walk away exhausted from laughing, soaking wet from ocean water and covered in sand. To me that is a sign of an evening well spent together. I want you to look back at these photos and feel as if you are peering into a time capsule of a season in your life - to see the true essence of your family relationships - joy and laughter oozing from each print! The messy chaos of love in full view. That is what I am constantly striving after with each encounter with a new family, to capture your story in all of its romantic wonder.
